2020 YOUTH SAILING PROGRAM
The Cedar Island Yacht Club is pleased to announce that our popular Youth Sail Program will be held again this summer 2020. This is our third year of operation.
The program is available to all children between the ages of 8 and 14.
The week long program, which is run under the direction of Ontario Sailing, the sports governing body, teaches this camp at our beautiful facilities located in Kingsville. Instructors are highly trained professionals, specializing in working with youth new to sailing. No sailing experience whatsoever is required. Give us your children and we will give them back to you as sailors who are comfortable in and around the water. It will also open their eyes to a new world and sport.
Equipment is state of the art. RS Quba sailboats are used.
We encourage you to register early as last year all classes were filled.
For more information visit our Facebook page at CIYC Youth Sailing Program or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org. The registration form is also available on our website at cedarislandyachtclub.ca under the heading Learn to Sail.
We are also pleased to announce that if there is interest, we will be offering an Adult Evening Class. This class is ideal for non sailing parents who want to share the same experience as their children. It will also be available for youth 15 years and older who are now too old for the Youth Camps.
Enrollment is limited to 8. Pricing will be available soon. If interested please contact us. Once we gauge the interest, we will provide more detail on the program.

Canada’s national training program for sailing in dinghies. The program is made up of core standards that promote progressive training of core dinghy sailing skills and knowledge. CANSail programming means lots of time on the water in a safe, fun and active learning environment. Sailors learn the skills and enter into fun and challenging experiences suited to their age and stage of development. The programming is designed to get – and keep – sailors excited about sailing for life!
